Campaign planning for unions and community organizations This workshop is designed to help participants develop deeper analyses of issues they are working on, create strategic plans and learn new tools for their campaigns. The workshop will be led by Teresa Conrow and Labor Center staff. Past participants have described the workshop as "the best workshop I have ever attended" and said "this class has opened my eyes to a whole new world of Organizing." The workshop will build participants' ability to: • Establish and maintain a member communication system • Understand the issues affecting members and communities • Identify clear goals and objectives • Create a unifying theme • Develop strategies and tactics • Create a timeline and evaluation plan How to apply: Please visit http://laborcenter.berkeley.edu/workshops/index.shtml#strat for more information and an application form. The early application deadline is June 27, 2008. The registration fee of $550 includes workshop materials, class binder and a light breakfast and lunch each day. Class will run from 9:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. For those traveling to this workshop, the Labor Center has reserved a block of rooms at a nearby hotel. Lodging is at additional cost. The Labor Center is accessible by BART and AC Transit; parking passes are available for a fee of $6.00 per day.
